punx not dead!

It’s like trying to pick up a bus with a match.
Going against the flow as its known by common people, is something I seem to be an expert at. Not always the cool go against the flow things like getting a lip ring or stuff.
Ok its like im thinking I want to be a certain thing, when I grow up I want to be a fireman say or a famous runner, and nearly all the “normal” people I talk to would think that something like that is for lucky people or talented people or someone else but themselves or someone in their small frame of reference.
I don’t get it, when did safe become the only acceptable option? Like imagination dies when you reach puberty or something.
I want my kids to be whatever they want (wen I have them) even if they want to be executives in high paying positions! If that statement sounds wrong to you IV reached my audience.

The world hates me anyway screw the rules.
Punx not dead! Those emo kids just made it sound crap.

  • I’ve been wondering lately how valid it is for us to go along with our culture on this one, Corey. We hear again and again how important it is for us to follow our hearts and do what we were made to do but what we were made to do always seems to change with the times. At one time I guarantee that a lot less men were born gay – now that it’s a viable option though… Same thing with acting and being in a band and being computer programmers and so on.
I realize that part of what you’re saying about your future kids is that you don’t want to force them into the mold of you – to compel them to do what you’re interested in – which is very important and true. I’ve just been wondering lately if we shouldn’t be training our kids to think first of how they can benefit and uphold others before thinking about being true to themselves or whatever. Not sure – just wondering.

I think the opposite is true! Its more acceptable in the present climate in the kingdom of the world, to chase nothing, dream of nothing and be afraid to be normal.
I think that your point about upholding others and teaching our kids to do that is on the money, but i think these two points are “both and” as your dad likes to say. Yes we need to teach our kids to take care of one another and be the hand or the foot or the eye in the body were called to serve.
